The $400 will get you a windshield, small but very usable, saddle bags supports -bolt inside the read fender and space the bags out off the belt guard, and maybe part of a set of bags. There are at least 2 pages of Savage specific accessories in the Suzuki catalog. I agree with hogryder, try to get the dealer to reconsider the price on the 97, I think the Suzuki distributor picks up the accessories, not the dealer. The items my S-I-L got with her 99 had to be special ordered and were paid for by someone else as the dealer wanted shop time to install them. I picked up her bike, the accessories and installed them for her. The directions were OK except for the windshield and I had to use the picture in the catalog to get the brackets on correctly as the directions were for a different model, part number was OK for the Savage. Pick a color your like and a dealer you are comfortable with, important when it come to after sale service and warranty repairs if needed. Max
